Cinth55 on Oct 21, 2015I would get rubber step guards as you can also slip on carpeting. Rubber will grip you foot whether you are in socks or shoes. They have made some fancy designs in rubber.Helpful Reply

Darla on Oct 21, 2015Non-slip treads that stick on stairs, plus make sure you've got a sturdy handrail. Get used to having your hand on the rail when you go up or down, especially since you've been falling! Hope you don't have any more falls.Helpful Reply

Z on Oct 21, 2015Oh Janine, I'm so sorry about your falls. I too would suggest rubber non-slip treads. They come in a variety of colors so they won't stand out, even decorative styles, so they don't have to look awful in case you're worried about that. https://www.google.com/search?q=decorative+rubber+no-slip+treads&biw=1600&bih=731&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAmoVChMIwZ7n3dvTyAIVTYANCh212AHcHelpful Reply

Liz on May 16, 2016If you have ceramic tile steps, you can paint them with a good quality concrete paint that contains an anti-slip ingredient. There are lots of color selections. I agree with the comment about installing hand rails. Falls can be dangerous!Helpful Reply
