DIY or Pro? - Reno a 1960's Clunky Shower Stall to a Glass Wall Shower

Trying to figure out if this is a project that I could take on myself (no demolition or bath experience) or if this is better left to a pro (or some combination of both), and how much this job might cost. I'd also like to save and reuse the marble trim of the shower. Any other space saving ideas for this teensy master bathroom?
Thanks much!

With no experience, I would hire someone with a lot of experience. I'm not clear on whether you want to remove the wall(s) and replace with glass block and then re-tile the floor and back wall, but glass block is very heavy. Not all floors can support the additional weight. In order to save the marble, which can be somewhat brittle, you will need someone who will take their time and knows what they're doing. It could look really beautiful though. Good luck!

I would put in the glass wall, adding a small seat to the corner (much easier for shaving legs, etc.). I would also add small corner shelves next to the facet area to hold shampoos, etc. Trim the glass wall in gold or silver. I would update the large vanity with a small cabinet and bowl sink, with facet and hardware to match the trim on the shower, then add a tower of small shelves in the corner next to the vanity for storage. I can't see the toilet area but seems to be a window above the toilet because of the light coming in, so I would also add a narrow, decorative basket on the toilet tank to hold toilet paper, etc. It also looks like there is some space behind the door. You could add some narrow shelves there or if you use your bath towel more than once, you could add some hooks behind the door for those. In my opinion, I would hire a professional to do the job!

I do not think this looks like a DYI project.Replacing a wall calls for professionals.Just my opinion.

I think I would have half a wall where the toilet is, just for seperation.

@Janet chambers Yes agreed I did that years ago as a temporary fix until I could afford the total reno.

Just an FYI...installing shower pans are tricky and often lead to disastrous leaks. <<<points to self. Would hire this job out but save money by having the "pro" stop at the structure. You can tile, paint and add all the finishing touches yourself. [ =

We built from scratch a bathroom, and got to the plumbing and heating and hired a guy that works on the side. Pick your battles!
