I guess this isn't a home improvement question, but more of a design question.
We're still working on the Shabby Chic transformation of my bedroom... And aside from wanting to create a mural of birds with a garden feel, I came across this wonderfully shabby chic picture and want to try my hand at something similar. However this is the only picture I can find of it. Has anyone seen this before and do you know of the artist? I'm presuming it dates back to the 1920's, but that's as far as I know.

Nichter's Home Services Corp on Dec 03, 2011or http://www.saturdayeveningpost.com/2011/12/02/art-literature/stanlaws-girls.html http://www.philsp.com/data/thumbs/e/everybodys_191206_tn.jpg http://www.linandwilfpostcards.com/postcardshop/prod_1340810-STANLAWS-Glamour-Woman-Art-Hat-Red-White-Blue-Postcard-1915.html I think S's model is the same girl from what I see. Can you tell if the artist signature is Gibson or Stanislov? Seems S did more nudes and his girls had hats more oftenHelpful Reply

April on Dec 03, 2011Thanks again! I have to agree with you in that it looks like Gibson or Stanlaws - especially the Saturday evening post covers look a lot like it. I'm not sure about the signature, sorry. That's the biggest copy of the pic I can find and when I zoom, it gets distorted.Helpful Reply

April on Dec 03, 2011Praise God, I found it! Nichter, you have picked at my brain to get me started on a scavenger hunt which lead me to other sites and artists - and I finally found it under an artist by the name of Earl Christy. You guys are great. :) http://www.americanartarchives.com/christy,e_picrev_july25.jpg and http://img1.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.228567173.jpgHelpful Reply

April on Dec 06, 2011Thanks Virtually, that sounds great! We're on the same wavelength - as a watercolor like pink is one of the colors I'm considering. Thanks, Flowerscapes! Green is one of my favorite colors - it's a very soft green. Yes, I would love any ideas or suggestions for it! :) I'm entertaining the idea of perhaps incorporating her into the bird mural - holding a bird or something of that nature.Helpful Reply
