Make a Cat Bed From an Old Wooden Crate

One of my passions is to repurpose something old into something new and useful. When I purchased an old fruit crate, I knew immediately that I wanted to make it a bed for my cat.
He gave his approval before the hubs and I started the project.
This is the finished product but it started with my hubs cutting out a half moon shape in the front of the crate.
We also repurposed the legs from a chair I found discarded on the side of the road and we cut them down to size. I spray painted them before they were screwed into place.
I made the custom paint color from leftover white and black latex paint. The handle was an old brass drawer pull that got a coat of cream tole paint. I sanded off some of the paint when it was dry to give it an old antique look.
I added his favorite blanket and he was eager to investigate and try it out.

Great idea. A friend gave me a basket for books but Daisycat took possession of it, sleeps in it all the time.
