Painting ceramic tile
-
Tonia on Oct 28, 2015I painted the tile behind my bathroom sink. The paint store said they did not recommend painting tile in bathrooms as it would be exposed to a lot of water. It stayed on for 12 years (we remodled or it would still be there.) I degreased the tile, painted on a binding primer, painted it then a couple coats of sealer. I don't think it will last on a shower wall or sink tops. I know you can have a cast tub re enameled but I don't know how that is done.1 marked as helpful Reply

Z on Oct 28, 2015As Tonia said, you can paint tile. Personally I'd run with it and have some fun. I'd love to see a picture of it to get ideas. You might be surprised how well it could look with the right accent color.1 marked as helpful Reply

Janet chambers on Oct 29, 2015Sorry ladies, I thought it was tile, it is not. It is fiber glass, the tub and the walls around it. I will post a pic. of it when I close on the house. I can use all the help I can get. Your right Becky, I think I will run with it, that is, if I can ever get it clean!1 marked as helpful Reply

Janet chambers on Oct 29, 2015Becky, thank you so much, you are very kind. My husband and I built our "dream home" 15 yrs. ago, 2800 sq. ft., and now realize that it is way too much for us to take care of now that our children are grown. My new house is 1300 sq. ft. and a ranch. I have a lot of antiques that were our parents and will have to get rid of a lot of things but am also looking forward to redecorating this 1909 Victorian style house! I will post everything on here that I am doing because it's always good to have a lot of "eyes" to help!1 marked as helpful Reply

Janet chambers on Oct 30, 2015Becky, I am so sorry for your loss and horrible news about others. I also have had more than my share of tragedy lately. I lost a brother in Aug. to colon ca, another brother who lives with me has liver and esophageal ca, and a friend of mine hung himself a couple of weeks ago. I try to follow my own advice, which is; 1.) Try not to worry over things you cannot change, 2.) You can not make someone do something they don't want to do. 3.) Find at least 15min. a day for yourself. And 4.) Do not judge but put yourself in another's place. And lastly 5.) Love other's as much as you can without giving away the joy in your own life. If you need a great on-line support group, go to mdjunction. I am on there a lot. Kindest regards, janetHelpful Reply
