Barn Sale Find
by
Karen Anderson Knaus
(IC: homeowner)
I picked up this dresser from a barn sale this summer. There was too much damage to the finish that I decided to jazz it up a bit.
I stripped off the finish, sanded and repaired what was broken. I stained the top a dark mahogany.
Then I painted the dresser white with a tint of light beige. For the top I polished it with 3 coats of clear paste wax. On the dresser, I made my own dark paste wax and gave it 3 coats. Changed out the drawer handles with a set of older owns I had which I spray painted a matte black.
Enjoyed the project?
