Denise on Nov 01, 2015collect grape vine. thick to thin vines as you will need both. start at the bottom of cage with the thicker vine, wrap vine around and use wire to fasten to cage. Start with the thicker vines and work your way up to top. your vines will go from thick at bottom to fine at the top. This takes a LOT of patience.Helpful Reply

Z on Nov 01, 2015I couldn't find a tutorial of how to make one with grapevine, but the basics are in the video below in how to prepare the cage and add the lights. I have seen them made before and what they do is take apart grapevine wreaths and wrap the tomato cage from the bottom up. You need to soak the vine first so it won't break as you bend it.Helpful Reply

Brenda LeCloux on Nov 03, 2015I cut my own grapevine and use a thin wire, you must be able to bend it easily. I secured the grapevine to the bottom with wire and just started wrapping. I have also used honeysuckel vine. I used more wire to secure the vine to look pleasing. I have never gone to the trouble of using wreaths. I have hung birds on fishing line in the middle of the trees and used less vine but still used lights on the outside. I sometimes wire ornaments or handcut metal stars. Once you start your mind will just create it for you. I sold many many of these trees at craft fairs and I still have endless ideas for them.Helpful Reply
