Vintage Styled Lighting

When a DIY idea falls easily into place it was meant to be. An eccentric vintage light and a broken table leg makes a unique photo prop. This project is not about lighting. I left the cloth covered wiring in place. The outlet is a piece of wood! No DIYer's were harmed or electrocuted in this project.
I cut to pieces of wood and a round piece from a dowel. Three staples will hold the cloth electric cord in place.
The light bulb was $6 and the bracket or table leg was $2. Both found at Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market.
I drilled two holes to "plug" in the light in one piece of wood. Then I router keyholes to hang the wood blocks.
Making the keyholes! I used a tea and ironed vinegar technique to age the new wood.
Now where to hang my vintage style light?? I found these shutters at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Store for $5. I used them as they were for my Autumn mantel.
For this project, I needed a place for the light to hang. A few lattice wood and cut into pieces to fit in the shutters.
A coat of white paint was perfect to use against the vintage wood. In this photo the "light" is photo shopped in.
I'm going to have fun added my vintage styled light to photo props.

I have this small hinged shutter, frame only, and am looking for some ideas what to do with it. I would like to find ways to do maybe 4 things at once with it, i.e. calendar, to do list, magnet board, chalk board. In my mind, I can't seem to make it work. Any ideas?

That is a great idea . But are you sure the light is safe as it looked like the wiring was fraying. I love shutters also and made a 6ft divider out of 4 shutters. Turned out really nice.
