Fireplace Mantel Makeover, Plank Style

My current decorating obsession is my living room. It's the one room I can never seem to get just right. Still not there, but I'm pretty pleased with the makeover I gave the fireplace wall. I love big impact projects that are inexpensive and not difficult to accomplish. This was one of those. The wood planks are Evertrue v groove paneling from Lowe's. The same wood I used to created the palletless pallet wall in our bonus room. I framed it out with pine 1x3 boards painted white.

I really like this...very unique! Love the bead-board wainscoting on the wall surrounding the fireplace. Your giant "flower" above the mantle looks great, too.

Wow this is a nice treatment. Love the planks. what a great frame for your flower, or any other treatment you might conjure up :-)
