I had a customer tell me the other day that she went into one of the big home improvement stores and the "sales person"

was trying to steer her away from Granite tops.He told her that you could not sit a hot cup of coffee down on Granite without destroying it. My 1st question to the customer was , what is the coffee cup made of. The customer then realized how rediculous the sales persons claims were. If you have any questions about Granite , Marble , or any surface, please contact me ,I will be happy to answer them.

  • Hmm, that's odd. What was the sales person trying to steer them towards, do you know? Did they give any reasons why that other product was supposed to be better?
  • They were steering them towards the manufactured materials.. The Big stores have more profit in the manufactured material because of agreements with those companies.

Yikes. That sounds like some REALLY hot coffee. :-) I have heard the same thing about some 'big' home improvement stores as well. If that's the case, its a shame.

Do your research before you shop!
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions or make someone prove their claims. Remember three things. Number one ,Granite does not wear out ,you will have to live with it for a long time so it has to be to your liking.Number two , you are paying for it ,not your sales person , so make sure what you are getting.Number three , ENJOY IT.
