Thanksgiving Preparations...

I was obsessed with these acorn pine tassels on Pinterest. So I thought of a way to have them on our holiday table...
Acorn tassel napkin rings...
Washed & painted acorn heads with gold leaf. (Make a few extra for unexpected guests.)
Drilled one, small hole with an 1/8" drill bit in ea.
Found my ribbon box of "goodies". I used my gold floss & cord, to stay with my color scheme. You could use yarn, twine, anything you can poke through that little hole. A toothpick works best.
Cut my pine needles to the size I liked, about 3" long. Norway Spruce work best, if you're using real tree. I tried both. I found some fake that were convincing. And made little bundles...
Filled the under cup with hot glue....
Held my bundled up needles in place till dry.
I think they turned out lovely! The real pine needles smell wonderful. And I'm glad I tried them both, so I can also use them for Christmas.
Enjoyed the project?

Teresa on Nov 25, 2015An awesome ideal! I was looking at the Christmas decorations in the stores & I see that a lot are incorporating acorns or the caps! Such a small but beautiful thought! Definitely will try your example!
