Hits and Misses at the BC Home and Garden Show
I attended the BC Home and Garden Show in Vancouver just a day after the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle and they were surprisingly very different. I noticed some great trends like the amazing succulent displays from WIG, clean line landscaping, and a lot of fire! But I was disturbed by the fake stuff...fake lawns and fake snow. Something about plastic coverings as well as too much hard-scape bothers me...There is a natural process to water seepage and flow as well as water getting to underground aquifers and I wonder if they are somehow being impeded? I don't know, but I just think water going into the ground where it falls from the sky is best. We are covering too much of our earth with concrete, houses, shopping centers...??? I am not a conservation nut, but I do see an encroachment problem!
