Help, how to coordinate chairs
How would I coordinate these chairs with a living room and dining room shared space? Any ideas? Or pics to give me ideas.
Thanks!

Elaine on Nov 15, 2015Personally, I think the pattern is very cool, in style & wouldn't change them at all. But if you dislike them, It depends what colors are in your living room. If your couch is fairly neutral (such as brown, green, grey, etc.) you could buy pillows that pick up colors from these chairs to tie all together. If you prefer a bit of a pattern and your couch is a solid, stripes look amazing with florals (if you decide to leave the chairs as is). Look for a striped fabric that repeats the colors of the chairs. OR lastly, Google how to paint a couch/sofa and paint the two chairs. Make sure you add Fabric Medium to the paint and follow directions. One more suggestion is to slipcover them but as I said, I think they are great just the way they are!Helpful Reply

Sixteenfourteen on Nov 15, 2015It would help to know what you are trying to coordinate with. The chairs by themselves seem to work fine with the neutrals in your dining area. I would keep the other chairs at the dining table fairly plain, since these have such a bold pattern. They are cute. :)Helpful Reply

Elaine on Nov 16, 2015Hi again: i think I misunderstood your question and apologize!! I thought you were meaning you disliked the chairs. Sorry! Again, I love the pattern and would definitely look for some striped fabric that repeats the colors in the two chairs and cover cushions for the sofa. Also add some solid color cushions for interest. Then have the other dining room chairs fairly plain.Helpful Reply

Fab and Pretty on Nov 16, 2015love these chairs! It's easy to add little pops of the colours that are in the pattern. I have a printed chairs in my living room which adjoins my dining room, so kind of the same situation. From this photo if you look closely the printed chairs have the colours I sparingly spread in the space via the cabinet, pillows and other decor items being gold, green, blue. On your couch you could even introduce 2 tone bold patterns with the colours you choose to repeat. Andrea has a great example hereHelpful Reply

Starr Durrant on Nov 16, 2015I would add a few chairs to the set pulling from one of your favorite colors in the pattern - I like Daisy's color choice above and then maybe a table runner that is red or green. To tie it into the living area add a vase or some cushions that also incorporate colors from the chair. Please post a pic of what you end up doing - would love to see how it works out - Best of luck!Helpful Reply

The Redesign Habit on Nov 17, 2015These chairs are great! If you only have two of these, start by keeping the other chairs that you use with them in a plain fabric or color. As for getting them to tie in with your living room, you can do that easily by pulling one or two of the colors from this chair fabric and using little bits of it throughout the rest of your dining room/living room in accessories such as toss pillows, candles, vases, etc. It doesn't have to be a lot either. Just little hits of the color here, and there.Helpful Reply

Margaret Pizzi on Nov 17, 2015I would do a neutral color for the sofa, such as a tan or beige because you'll have more flexibility for future design changes. You can add pillows or a throw in the chair colors but I'd make sure I got a couple pillows in that bright red. I love red for accents.Helpful Reply

Danielle on Nov 17, 2015Just had to tell you that fabric is great! I'd pull some of the brighter tones out into throw pillows, and if you really wanted a pop in the living area chose a piece like a console table or curio cabinet and paint it out with either the green or blue. Or heck, even use both, especially if you like energetic, bright, modern spaces.Helpful Reply

Opal on Nov 18, 2015These chairs are fabulous and will go with almost anything, I am envious. I agree, keep the sofa/love seat neutral and on the lighter side (buy/make a slip cover for your existing sofa/love seat). If you are buying new I would consider a love seat over a sofa depending on the size of the room and the scale of these chairs. These chairs seem smaller to me and might get lose with a large sofa. It seems that you lean towards blue, so I would suggest adding navy pillows to the sofa, possibly a throw blanket in either navy or green with a pattern (colored or textured), navy curtains in the dining area and something with the lighter blue or red in the living area. Other suggestions depending on what's is already in the room would be an area carpet to the living area with these colors, paint the bookcase in the dining room navy or black, and possibly a rug under the dining table if you like the look.Helpful Reply

Dfm on Nov 18, 2015those chairs are very cool! my tendency is to go very neutral with colors on the major furniture pieces...toupe, brown, grey, or natural cotton slip covers. You can pull a few of your favorite colors from the chairs pattern to do pillows and throws for the living room, and different colors also taken from the chair fabric to do napkins/ napkin rings/ table runner. my choice for my dining room chairs was to do 4 in different solid colors pulled from the print, and put the 2 printed at each end of the table.Helpful Reply

Jan on Nov 19, 2015Use them with a small game table in a corner of an otherwise beige room. Pull out the colors with throw pillows on your sofa. Make a coordinating centerpiece for the dining room table with the colors in the chairs. Paint an accent wall in one of the colors in the chair. Voila!Helpful Reply

Johnchip on Nov 22, 2015Solid color matching bolsters will tie them together. And since it is such a bad match of the original fabric placement, i would seperate them by table or distance for sure!Helpful Reply

Deborah Sale-Butler on Nov 23, 2015I matched drapery colors in both rooms with the colors of my dining room chairs to tie it all together (and even pulled one chair into the living room as an accent chair). I also find it interesting to expand on the least-used color in a pattern or print to use on a solid. For example, a sofa or accent wall that matches the blue flowers would be beautiful - or if you like a bolder statement, bring out the red!Helpful Reply
