After you install an awesome pebble base in your shower stall and you initially seal the grout, how often should you re-seal?

  • the general rule of thumb is once a year... what is stated on the sealer used? What type of grout used? Assuming normal (not epoxy) & based on sealer used, how often the shower is used it could be every few months or few years - just make sure water doesn't sit on it longer than needed http://thehtrc.com/2009/ceramic-tile-maintenance-upkeep

An infused grout is all I use in wet areas, quartz lock, Epoxy grout, fusion pro, etc... Never again have to seal /reseal ,no stains. But it would take a removal of your existing grout

You could use grout / tile sealer spray which should extend it to about once every two years (if it's only one shower a day)

It will really depend on the quality of your sealer. One I could buy was $50 another was $140 (for same amount) when I asked, the guy (a tile pro) said the $50 will last a year, the other 10 years ..... it was a pretty simple choice If you used epoxy grout, then you wouldn't need to ever seal it! I did and although some people thought I was crazy, I'm happy I did.....it's a B*No search results.#th to work with though!!

I have a pebble shower floor and my tile man told me to use half water and half white vinegar. I use Dow Bathroom Cleaner and rinse that off and then spray with the vineger and water and let it dry on the tile and the floor. I haven't had any mildew for the last 2 years. He said bleach will distroy your grout.

ok one tile guy (mine) told me never vinegar on grout even diluted and yet some of yours says vinegar so I am asking vinegar ok or not??? now its bleach that is bad I use a sealer on the floor of the shower and NuFinish car wax on the walls, it seals the grout, water repels off and I do the walls twice a year but not the floor as it can be slippery but who knows the answer to vinegar I certainly use it in my toilet and mostly everywhere but grout no

I seal with marine varathane. To clean I use clorox, let sit ten minutes, wipe off, perfect white. The easiest permanent low maintenance system, been using all my life without fail.

hat depends on water conditions (hardness of water) & usage / frequency and type pf cleanser used. basically every year to be safe or less. the old way, prior to all the chemicals, was to use baby oil, apply to a rag, wipe on liberally , let set, and wipe off excess

I use professional grout sealer that can be purchased at most flooring stores as well as Lowes and Home Depot. I also resell at least once a year.
