Can I replace boards with a new kind of wood floor and stain and poly?

I have several damaged boards on my Bruce flooring. They no longer make the floor. Can I replace with a close color stain and poly to make it look nice?

I would contact a representative from Bruce flooring and see if they can locate a floor that is similar to your existing.floor. Since this is a laminate floor I really do not know how you would match it up with a regular wood floor.

You most likely won't be able to match and make it look nice. It will be really noticeable, especially if it isn't in a spot that is hidden. You should contact Bruce and see what they suggest.

You could try getting a couple small pieces of the wood you want to leave the planks with and find the stain color that matches ( you can even mix stains to make a match) stain the piece and put it down on the floor to see how it looks . Once you have the color you want and wood that works best you can replace as needed

I have no ideas to help you, just wanted to say hello! I'm originally from Fowlerville and still have family there. 😊

You might be able to pull up enought boards around the room and replace with a darker board to make it look like a planned design...like an outer or inner border depending where the damage boards are.

Look n the net for Bruce flooring mfg. or go to a flooring contractor supply house, if you can not locate one in your area, call a flooring contractor and ask him the location of one. most flooring is still made unless we are talking about something 80-100 years old still make it, it would be a lot easier then you trying to match it by staining. each type of wood has a different fiber density and graining, and stains will be different.

If you have some of the same flooring in a closet or small area do some research to remove that n redo your bad stuff
