Gorgeous Handcrafted Ornaments by Somewhat Quirky Design

I did a little redecorating in my living room this year and wanted to make some ornaments that reflected the vibe a little bit.
I've had a bunch of these clear ornaments hanging out in the basement for maybe 8 years. The potential for these ornaments is endless, but I'd never had an idea that I was committed to enough to actually DO anything about.
This year I was inspired by some lighting I saw on Pinterest that I thought maybe I could create some facsimile of for Christmas.

So I painted my ornaments with Black, Pure & Original Paint. This paint makes an absolutely beautiful flat finish.
Then I got out my gold leafing supplies and did some experimenting.
Leafing is really quite easy. I have several tutorials on leafing on my blog. The best one is found HERE.
There is also a supply list and sources for those supplies in the blog post.
I used metal powder on two of the ornaments. The powder is even easier to use than the leaf.
I kind of love how they turned out. I have a friend that tells me they look even better in person.
I think I will make some more!
As I said there are a few more pictures and a lot more info on the blog post. You may want to check it - see link below.

Oh! And these were part of a blog hop - 17 different creations by 17 different bloggers. All the links are there!

The link to your blog seems to be broken. Can you post the working link so I can find the supplies and other links?

Hi Carla, Your blog link at the bottom of this post does not work. I tried getting to it in a few ways but it still is not there. Did you take your blog site down? Thank you for taking the time to answer and this ball project is another beautiful piece you kindly shared. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
