Furniture and Room Makeover

I had this outdated, very heavy, bedroom furniture that I wanted to keep. So I decided to paint it, after much consideration. It had been my aunt's and I am sure was made in the 50's. Good and sturdy and since I could not afford an entire new bedroom set, this is what I did.
My first step was to clean it with vinegar water and after allowing it to dry, I primed it. No sanding needed.
After allowing the primer to dry, I took paintable wallpaper boarder, cut to size and applied to the front of the drawers.
This is the side of the chest of drawers after the first coat of black furniture paint.
The headboard was brown so I did the same with it. Primed, applied wallpaper boarder and painted! This too is the first coat.
The nightstand with the final coat, just waiting for the wax and pulls.
The same for the chest. I can't decide what color to choose for the pulls, so any suggestions will be appreciated! The walls will soon be white and the floor will have tile, if I don't change my mind. I will post the finished room soon. Thanks for looking in!
Finished, all but the polyurethane coat!
I spray-painted the old drawer pulls silver and after painting the walls white the room really came together.
so pleased with the way it turned out. I hope you all like it!
