Janet Pizaro on Nov 20, 2015Honesty without seeing the actual color I dont think that can be answered. My suggestion would be to go to a paint store with your paint chip and a photo of the cabinet to find a happy medium.Helpful Reply

Lyn2398900 on Nov 20, 2015How about silver cabinet's? Way out, I know, but sure would look good with the green! Shiny silver, I can see it now! If you can't, I do understand.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Nov 21, 2015@Cbarragan49 it may depend on the type of cream you choose - anything with too much brown/taupe in it would be fighting with your white tiles on top of the cabinet. The idea of going to the paint store for some sample chips is a good one and I would suggest you do that. You could look at some white paint chips that have a hint of mint in them, just for fun bring home some other colours as well. You have a very soft palate right now, perhaps consider something bold like a dark grey, it would pop with the other clolours in the room.Helpful Reply

Mary Insana on Nov 21, 2015I would go and get as many chips of creams you like. They may not look different in the store but they are. One you pick one why not do a dry brush of white over the cream to tone it down and tie it into the white tiles.Helpful Reply

Duv310660 on Nov 21, 2015White and cream are sorta in the same group, 'whites and off whites'. These are really the most nuanced, complex colours there are, and are inherently more difficult to work with. Mint, also can be a very blue-toned mint or a yellow-toned mint. If I take your meaning of 'cream' to be a yellow-hued off white, it might work, but it is hard to tell when using less-than-exact words like cream and mint. If you're thinking cream because there already is some cream existing in your room by all means think about working the existing cream colour in (certainly the reddish brown does not need to be there with the white and mint!). BUT if you are looking for a third colour to look good with white and mint, INSTEAD of cream, I would move further away from the white than cream. How about yellow, turquoise or aqua? Or google "what color goes with white and mint" and click "images" to see what is out there in the world. OR think of why you like mint: Mint chip ice cream? Use chocolate/espresso for accents. Easter? Work with ester egg colours: pastels. If you get stumped or have an obstacle to your decision, take your sample colours and room pictures into a good paint store like Sherwin Williams. There are trained colourists there who can talk to you about colour solutions.Helpful Reply

Patty S on Nov 21, 2015I agree with Lynnrode48. But I would do pewter. Rustoleum has a product that I have used on my nightstands. It looks like forged hammered metal. It is awesome if you like the Industrial look. It would be beautiful with your mint green and White. If you used a cream color. It would look dirty because you have the white tile. If you don't like the idea of silver or pewter, then go with a charcoal gray.Helpful Reply

Liliana Wells on Nov 21, 2015I agree with duval.26's ideas. I also agree with Patty S that the cream/off white would lookdirty because there is not enough contrast with the white and green. Personally, I like white. But if you would like to introduce another color, look at this article http://www.dejavuedesigns.com/how-to-choose-a-color-scheme/Helpful Reply

Diane Stultz on Nov 21, 2015Keep it all in the mint green and white add the third color with towels and accessories. That way its easier to change the whole look of the room by changing out the third color.Helpful Reply

Terra Gazelle on Nov 21, 2015How about going with a darker color then a white. It might look a little washed out..how about a dark slate gray? I have painted a place mint and a creamy white..It was not a nice warm feel that I was going for.Helpful Reply

Sandra on Nov 28, 2015I am thinking a very soft yellow would be nice. My dad was an artist and used to say look around outside. Green goes with almost anything. Even pinks and blues. Go to a paint store and get a bunch of paint ships in books or alone and bring them home to test against the green.Helpful Reply

Sandra on Nov 29, 2015I agree. I would only accessorize with a yellow. I was thinking of something a bit brighter yellow, like a buttercup. Living in Florida, we see a lot of yellows and greens and pinks and corals. Of course, another color that could be used is black. My parents has a bathroom with mint green tile and the trim tile was black. It wasn't something they would have themselves put in a bathroom, but coming from a house with a dusty pink and burgundy bathroom (not chosen by them either) my mother added over time a lovely yellow in the way of accessories and even pink. Yes, it needs some thought and certainly those paint chips I mentioned would be helpful in deciding on any color decided on. And, sorry about your living room. I know what it's like to have a room I don't like. I let my husband choose the paint for our bedroom. He chose Baby Booty Blue. I live with it because I chose the paint for the rest of the house.Helpful Reply
