Upcycled Thrift Store Bookend
by

Thrift store finds make me happy, especially when you see it and instantly know it can be transformed into something new! That's just what happened when I found this single wood bookend for a dollar!
As soon as I spotted it I thought it would make a nice little wall shelf with it's pretty carved details.
Using a piece of wood that I picked up at a craft store and some paint and clear and dark waxes that I had on hand I transformed the bookend giving it a new purpose and look.
It also gave me a new little spot to decorate, happiness!

Pamrwilson on Jan 28, 2017I have 2 thick, heavy corner "shelves" that I have been trying to think of something to do with. Well you just helped me think of something. I have multiple fake birds and nests about my house. I think one will now house the nest and eggs and the other the bird. Now where to put them? Laundry I believe. Thanks again
