Easy DIY Shiplap!

I LOVE the look of shiplap but unfortunately we don't have that in our builder basic home, so I used some budget-friendly supplies to install some ourselves in our coastal guest bedroom. This may be my most favorite before and after to date :)
While our guest bedroom had already undergone a definite improvement, the big wall facing the door just needed more pizzazz.
To finish off the edges nicely, I used some leftover battens from our wainscoting project and trimmed out the wall.

The color I used on the wall is Sherwin-Williams' "Peppercorn" and it's one of my favorite paint colors!

The difference is amazing and there's so much more drama in this room now! Such an easy way to bring architectural interest to a room!

What a beautiful wall. I'm love the gray with your white furniture. Very dramatic. One question. You had the wood cut into strips, so when you put the boards on the wall, I assume you cut the odd sizes yourself. Right? Great job!

Could this same technique be applied to the ceiling?
