Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Dec 16, 2011Depends on your definition of "last." At best this is a sort of temporary solution for the short to mid term. The better the thing is cleaned and prepped to get of any build up, the longer it will last, but certainly not a permanent thing.Helpful Reply

Bob and RodMan S on Dec 16, 2011My experience has also been that the refinish is a short term affair. I would really like to hear from someone who has had better results than those I generally see in this area. With all the space age bonding agents it seems that there should be a long term solution.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 18, 2011The "pro" refinishes can last a good long time. As with any painting project the "prep" is the key to a successful job. I have used a company called Miracle Method with great results...here is a Q&A comment from their web site. Frequently Asked Questions - Bathtub Refinishing Home > Bathtub Refinishing > Frequently Asked Questions - Bathtub Refinishing How long will a Miracle Method refinished bathtub and ceramic tile surround last? A Miracle Method refinished bathtub or tile wall should easily last 10 to 15 years using the same care and maintenance instructions recommended by new bathtub manufacturers. Our MM-4 bonding agent creates a chemical bond between old and new surfaces, assuring you long life for your refinished tub.Helpful Reply

Blackmon, Inc. on Dec 22, 2011Yes you can. My parents had an old "claw foot" tub refinished about 30 years ago and it is still just fine. Try Unique Refinishers in Buford, GA. I think that is their name. That is their speciality as far as I know.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 23, 2011Chris...the Miracle Method work is all done "on site" no need to pull the tub. Not having to remove and re-install is one of the main drivers for a re-finish project.Helpful Reply

Nip Tuck Remodeling on Dec 23, 2011I have used two different services for refinishing and Miacle Method seems to have a solid system. From my last conversation with them, they warrant the service for 5 years, but the average results are 15-20 years (I can't verify this). I liked that this method is supposed to gently "wear" off as opposed to other systems that actually peel off. The other issue is that some of these methods have varing degrees of odor. You'll want to inquire about that as well. It will likely cost you about $500 and it is a much more effective solution than purchasing new.Helpful Reply
