Paneling on garage doors is warping

The 3-section paneling on my garage doors is warping. Can these panels be replaced without removing the wood doors? They are about 15 years old and look terrible.

There are several sites where you can purchase replacement panels. We were lucky becase our pastor is great with wood and has any equipment needed We just got some thin plywood and cut it to size then glued and caulked them in....If I were to do it over again, I'd have him cut a little "window" in each of them and put glass in....but of course that would have been more work and expense. As it is, it turned out to be pretty easy....We did have to repait the whole garage door since that paint was faded and the paint on the new panels was new. knock out one of the panels that you have and take it to the lumber yard and have them cut some plywood to size then go for it. You can do it.

In New England the lower panels get warped from rain and snow. I replaced mine with tempered 1/4 inch Masonite hardboard. To install trim back just three sides of wood edge forming grove with saw or chisel. Paint and install replacement panel allowing for 1/8 inch gap all around. Use caulk and quarter round moulding. It lasted another 5 years before deciding to completely replace door.

I overlayed my warped bottom panels with thin plywood, caulked then painted the entire door. They look great.

Sounds like you have some good ideas on how to replace the panels above. Just out of curiosity I would want to ask a garage door company why the panels you had got warpped. Could they have been pressed wood.?

They are very thin press board, kind of like what is on the back of furniture. There was no way to remove it so I just overlayed. I was suprised that it turned out so well, you have to look close to see the difference in the original vs the overlayed ones after priming and reprinting the entire door.
