Using salsa jars as tie-backs

Question

I have a zillion salsa jars 'just in case'... well I have this idea to use them as tiebacks for curtains. I was going to put dried flowers in them and hang the curtains behind the jars.But here's the issue. I have no idea how to hand the jars from the wall.. How do I keep them attached to the wall? I really have no idea...

I love the idea...I'm thinking how fresh it would look with a hemp rope tied around the jar neck with an added 12' rope loop for each side,(Would need 24' for each) one for in back of the curtains which goes over a hook in the wall (or the window frame), while the other goes in front of the curtain to the hook. 12' may be too long depending on the fabric. Adjust as needed. You could braid the hemp to bulk it up some if you wanted. Hope this is clear enough for you to picture it. An easier way might be wire or bendable copper..Wish I knew more about it, which room, what style do you have? Do you plan on opening and closing them? I'd love to help.Sara

You have really given yourself quite a challenge! There are a few different ways in which you could do it - you could simply make take some wire, put it around the neck of the bottle, leaving a loop, which could then be threaded onto your tie-back. Have you thought of putting a glass shelf across the window and displaying the jars on the shelf as you have described? You would then get the benefit of the light coming through the dried flowers (just a thought).
