Lori on Dec 01, 2015I hope whomever put that at the curb was waiting for someone to take it, it is a great find. What about refinishing the top and staining it then paint the amazing legs.Helpful Reply

Shanna on Dec 01, 2015That is am AMAZING find!! I wished my neighbors would "toss out" such gorgeous pieces!! As for finishing, have you considered gold or silver leafing the table? It would take some time & effort but that style would look incredible metal leafed. Or you could paint it with antique white chalkboard paint & use a metal leafing paint pen to color/paint the recessed areas.Helpful Reply

Susan D on Dec 02, 2015You should try the DecoArt paint in the gloss finish. They sell it at Michaels and you can use a coupon. I heard it goes on really easy and the high gloss finish is really elegant.Helpful Reply

Lisa on Dec 02, 2015it's stunning!!!! the detail is gorgeous! I know a little different but I'm thinking outside the box...LOL this would make a beautiful vanity for a powder room.... one of those small round glass bowls with old fashioned taps. Treat the top for protection. Paint the legs white (possibly aged look) and then a turquoise top.Helpful Reply

Pam Walker on Dec 02, 2015I'd mount a mirror on the back of it lengthwise & find 2 end tables similar in color but shorter for each of the short sides & use it as a vanity. :)Helpful Reply

Valerie on Dec 02, 2015I like both Shanna and Lisa's ideas, but it all depends in which room you intend to use it. I personally would either leave it as it is, or go for a metallic finish. Its a stunning find, you must have done such a 'happy dance' when you saw it!Helpful Reply

Jackie on Dec 02, 2015Paint the top and edge black or have a piece of marble or granite cut to fit the top (not the top edge). Make a pattern out of paper and take it to a stone seller. Sit a beautiful bowl of greenery on it.Helpful Reply

Priscanello on Dec 02, 2015You are so lucky to find that on the curb, wish I could find something like that, I would use chalk paint and the wax on it, there are so many beautiful colors, you can check it out on line and find all sorts of ideas, Good luck. DianaHelpful Reply

Pamrwilson on Dec 02, 2015Would make a great hall/entry table with a mirror or picture over it. You could hang a wreath over the mirror for Christmas. I have found great "things" at the curb myself over the years. Five chairs, tiger oak, in the garbage, worth $400 a piece, after refinished. Can you believe that?Helpful Reply

Bron on Dec 02, 2015I think this is a beautiful find. It looks good as is but maybe do something with the top? I can't add to previous ideas but if you really wanted to do some thing really different and have children I think making it a whimsical item along the lines of Dr Suess would look great in a child's room. (Some people would be horrified at the thought of 'ruining' such a beautiful table). But hey! It would be such a unique item and certainly bring a lot of comments.Helpful Reply

Charlotte Wood Eckel on Dec 02, 2015OMG, why can't I ever find anything great like this?! I would spruce up the paint on the legs, then sand down the top to bare wood and stain it a color to match your other furniture.Helpful Reply

Gloria tulip on Dec 02, 2015If the top is several pieces of wood use wood filler to fill the cracks and decoupage sheet music. Or, you can paste some plain paper over the cracks, and then decoupage with a pattern of something you like.. I like sheet music.Helpful Reply
