Scrap Fabric Christmas Wreath

Many, many years ago, my family started a Christmas tradition of opening festive new pajama pants on Christmas Eve. I know it sounds like a cute idea for the kids, but my siblings and I were actually adults when this tradition started!
In time, many of our Christmas pajama pants have worn out or we just have too many to feasibly wear in one holiday season. My sister and I were thinking we ought to turn the Christmas jammies into something else, but weren't sure what to do with them until we came up with the perfect idea - Scrap Fabric Christmas Wreaths!
The matching Christmas pajama tradition continued year after year with new matching pajama pants and slowly grew to include all of our siblings, our significant others, our parents and now even our children.
After more years than I can count, we've amassed a wide array of pajama pants. There are some cotton, some flannel, some fleece pajamas in all different colors and seasonal themes.
We knew making Scrap Fabric Wreaths would be the perfect way to turn our beloved pajamas into a DIY Christmas gift for our brothers - and of course we made one for each of us too!
Step one: Cut the pajama pants into long thin strips.
Step two: Tie the strips onto a wire wreath frame.
Step three: Attach a cute Christmas sign (we painted these ourselves!).
Step four: Hang and enjoy!

Before the layered wreath forms, I did this with a styrofoam form and poked the fabric into it with a paperclip. I have a lot of fabric so I will be doing this soon with red bandanna fabric and denim. This is adorable and brings back fond memories. I love it!!

We used the paperclips as they were a blunt end so it wouldn't poke through the fabric. And yes, the tension kept them in. Did you know if you slice one in two you get twice the bang for your buck? Will post tomorrow!
