DIY "Joy" Sign & Sweater Wreath

It took me a year to get these two Christmas decorations done (in reality they were both very quick projects, I just needed to quit procrastinating), but I love how they turned out! The first was this Joy sign that was created thanks to some Pinspiration.
My husband put the boards together, and I painted the letters and added the boxwood and berries to the wreath (all of those supplies were from Hobby Lobby). I only did one coat of paint since they were going to be outside and I wanted a distressed look anyway.
He distressed the letters for me and nailed them to the board. Not much to it!
Apparently even my photo-bombing dog likes it! ;) The next project was a sweater wreath I wanted to make. I had intentions of using the greenery and berries that I used on the Joy sign, but when I found these $3 skis at the Target Dollar Spot, I was smitten!
I hot-glued the cut sweater pieces (2 half circle pieces) to the wreath form, then hot-glued the skis to the wreath. I found this cute plaid ribbon at Hobby Lobby and used it to hang the wreath! It will be cute on my door all winter long!
Enjoyed the project?
