Vickie on Dec 07, 2015Can you get an old window frame by any chance? If so, maybe back it with some sheet metal you can get at a Home Depot type store. It comes in many sizes and can be painted. If no window, how about a frame around a piece of the sheet metal that fits your space, paint it with chalkboard paint and maybe put some stenciled or painted designs in the corners. You can also add each volunteer's name on the chalkboard for easy retrieval. I think it is great you want to do something special for your volunteers to show them how much you appreciate them.Helpful Reply

Louise Adkins on Dec 07, 2015Janet already gave you my first idea. It could be a round metal pizza pan..leave it plain or paint it..same with the cookie sheets-they don't have to be painted. You could cut out a shape out of wood and paint it with magnetic chalkboard paint for the wall or even just a rectangular size to fit the space exactly. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Judy Capone Mantell on Dec 08, 2015I like the above ideas but also check out using pierced sheet metal. It is carried by the "Big Box" stores, comes in many designs and is cheap. It can be painted &/ or framed as well. Here are some ideas: https://www.google.com/search?q=perforated+sheet+metal+decorative&biw=1630&bih=826&tbm=isch&imgil=VbscnpywXduJTM%253A%253BF5IZpbiu9dtCQM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fqibrand.com%25252Fdecorative-metal-sheets%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=VbscnpywXduJTM%253A%252CF5IZpbiu9dtCQM%252C_&usg=__ruuP-XDWxwknBu2FsnkZRsaU5rA%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjEyPSHxsvJAhUPtIMKHdZABiAQyjcIPg&ei=wWxmVoTkJI_ojgTWgZmAAg#imgrc=VbscnpywXduJTM%3A&usg=__ruuP-XDWxwknBu2FsnkZRsaU5rA%3D Your local Habitat for Humanity Restore may also have some on hand or other ideas. Check them out!Helpful Reply

Sandra on Jan 11, 2016I just was looking at a post where a woman used an old metal ironing board for storage. She removed the legs and hung the board on the wall. It's metal. She painted it and decorated it with a starfish. She also hung a couple metal storage baskets on it. I bet this would work for you. They could either hang their name tags in it or store them in the boxes. It looks really cute and it's different if you didn't want it to stand out you could paint it the same color as the wall.Helpful Reply
