Old built-in hot tub.

We have a huge deck on the back of our house. And along with the deck is this hot tub, which no longer works. Did I mention it is built-in? I don't know how it was put in, (came with house), but it isn't coming out in one piece! Plus the huge hole it would leave in the deck. Money is tight, so fixing the tub, hiring to remove said tub, or repairing the deck once the tub is gone is just not happening right now. So what do I do with this tub? I was thinking water feature, but I don't want it to 'look' like a water feature made from a hot tub. Anyone? Ideas? Or has anyone already done this? Right now it has become the outdoor 'catch-all' and I'm not liking it at all! I want the deck to be a place to enjoy or become another 'room', not just steps to the backyard. Please help!

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Mar 15, 2013Paint the inside decorate around the outside edges and make a pond for fish. Put pond plants in it etc. will look like it always was like that. And cover in winter will help save the fish.Helpful Reply

Best Hot Tubs "Hot Tub and Pool Experts" on Mar 16, 2013Although I would suggest fixing the Hot Tub, an alternative would be a fountainscape (ecosystem waterfeature) right in the hot tub. First question is does it hold water of is it a leaker? There are many options for this type of deck top waterfeatures from @Aquascape Inc. I found this page that explains it well http://www.aquascapeinc.com/fountainscapes Let us know if this is an optionHelpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Mar 16, 2013by not working I'll assume it is not heating or pumping...rather than leaking? if it does not leak the fish pond is a great idea. If it does leak you may be able to line it with a sheet of EPDM rubber and then landscape it like a pond. The rubber sheet will help camouflage the tub so it does not look like a tub.Helpful Reply
