Barbara on Dec 09, 2015Is it caulking or liquid nails? The removal process is probably going to be determined by the nature of what the 'dots' are. Check the LiquidNails.com http://www.liquidnails.com/en-US/tips/removing-construction-adhesives scroll down a little to 'removing from building materials'. It calls for 'music wire'. I think it's available on Amazon but I didn't confirm.Helpful Reply

Pat on Dec 10, 2015I had to use an electric sander when that awful glue based grout was used on my backsplash tiles...and I had to rip all the tiles out as I couldn't get it off the face of the tiles either. I took the whole backsplash back to Lowe's and got my money back for the whole project/materials...I was furious...two weeks of working on it and pfffffttttt.!Helpful Reply

C on Dec 10, 2015if it was the back board that matched the counter {typical formica on pressboard} then it is most likely dots of Liquid Nails adhesive. It can be softened with a heat gun or good blow dryer {heat to 140*} then scraped offHelpful Reply

Zebbie Hardy on Dec 11, 2015Use a regular steam iron such as for ironing clothes. I didn't want to ruin mine so went to good will. Use steam a lot as you iron. I used that to get up those awful glue down tiles off floor! WORKS!Helpful Reply
