How I Transformed a Yard Sale Sofa With Chalk Paint! Part 1

After dragging home a $10 yard sale reject, I was able to transform it with chalk paint! It has become my favorite makeover project so I'm sharing the process. Here's the BEFORE...
Okay, admit it--some of you are thinking you would have r-u-n away from this reject! I hear you and almost did. However, as yard sale providence would have it, I had just made some changes in my living room, freeing up space. The fabric was worn and dated, but I could see potential...

Your make over looks great. How do you think it would do on this chair? It's kind of chenille feeling in the raised part of the design.

Dear Cecilia, a very stupid question from me. Does the paint not go off on your clothes? I have a house in SA and it gets mighty warm there. I'm sorry if you've already answered that question to someone else on another page, so please bear with me on this. :-0)

That is an amazing transformation! When I first saw that people were painting upholstered furniture, it sounded a little crazy to me insofar as I speculated that the fabric would stiffen and become hard after painting. How comfortable is it to sit on after completion? Can you describe the texture post paint application? Thanks.

Oh, how well i know...the paint stays after washing and/or sitting on. I accidentally sat on a paint can lid while doing some chalk painting and now I have a "bullseye" on my back side of my favorite workout pants. Yes, it is safe and durable on fabrics, trust me! whenever I wear them, I am adked if the bullseye was intentional.. haha .don't think so, but is cute.
