When my best friend told me she was having a baby, I was so excited! I knew I wanted to do something special for her shower... so I made her a cute rustic wishing well! Trust me, it didn't start out very cute... see how this wagon went from drab to fab in just a weekend!
You'll never believe what this wagon looked like before...
Taa-daa! I found this wagon at a yard sale and immediately saw the potential. With just a bit of elbow grease, I was able to transform it into the cute rustic well above!
First I sanded away the paint job on the rails.
Next, I used a rustic water-based stain to make the railings warm.
I made sure to paint all sides of the railings, also taking time to leave some spots open for a distressed look.
While the railings dried, I painted the inside of the wagon with pink acrylic. I then sealed it off with a satin finish, for a nice clean look.
And there you have it! Just a little bit of elbow grease went a long way with this. Just another reminder why we should always take a second look at our trash!

I love it too!! I prefer the wood. I wouldn't put a name on it because then it couldn't be passed down. Maybe use 'Enjoy the Ride'? You could even 'wood burn' your favorite words or saying on the rails. As always the possibilities are endless!

It's darling, you will have to take a pic with the baby in it when she gets here!
