What kind of material is the blind made out of?

Hi Janet it does not say what fabric but it is a ordinary roller blind, fabric feel to one side and shiny on the other, does that help ?

As Janet asked what are the blinds made of....PVC? Vinyl? Fabric? You can paint almost anything...just need the correct paint for the material! You can do it!

Catherine, you may need to go to the store and find the same kind of blind and get the kind of material it is before you start. Then buy the paint needed for that particular material!

Here's another option than painting, why not cover it with fabric. Here's a link for you: http://jacquelynnesteves.com/featured/fabric-covered-window-shade-tutorial/

Here's what I did. I hung the blinds from plant hooks on my patio roof. Sprayed with cleaner, scrubbed a bit, rinsed with hose and let dry. With drop cloths on ground, I then sprayed with Rustoleum, off white, satin finish, spray paint. Cords and all. They turned out perfect, have been up 3 years and still look great.

Sounds great Lyn, don,t think i will need to wash as a new blind, will have a look to see does Rustoleum have the colour i want , thank you so much xx

Are they faux wood or metal?
  • Catherine Green Catherine Green on Dec 22, 2015
Hi Sheila , it is a fabric blackout roller blind, shiny on one side , fabric feel on other xx

Since it is a blackout you could probably only have to paint front side. Or.. maybe spray adhesive fabric to front.??
  • Catherine Green Catherine Green on Dec 24, 2015
Thanks Sheila, do you know what spray paint i would use and i take it that faric you spray adhesive onto blind and then attach fabric , sorry new one for me never done a blind before xx

Not sure about the paint, maybe some of the other craters will know. As for the adhesive, when spraying, a pair of $1 store cotten beauty gloves keep hands clean & avaI for smoothing fabric. Let us know what works.
