I have these walls in living room and bathroom

Kimberly Barney on Mar 20, 2013This type of wall is still currently used in some trailers, although, some have drywall installations. This type of wall can be painted or wallpapered over. If you do not like the connecting bars that are placed between each panel, they can be removed and filled in with drywall putty. Don't put it on really thick or it will crack. I hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Jayme on Mar 20, 2013I have this kind of wall in my living room and I painted it. I primed it with Kilz and then painted it. I left the joining strips in place and just painted rightover those as well.Helpful Reply

Karen - The Graphics Fairy on Mar 20, 2013I once whitewashed some wallpaper that I didn't care for. I mixed up some white paint with a lot of water and sponged it over the paper. You can still see the print, but it subdues it, and can make it look as if it's a faded painted pattern. It can be a very pretty romantic look. If you don't like flowers though, then I would paint over it with primer and then paint, like the other commenters suggested.Helpful Reply

Phyllis W on Mar 25, 2013Thanks Kris Cole. You are an inspiration to us who live in a mobile home. Why is it we think we have to accept that ugly 'decor'? I have lots of real dark paneling. I think the whitewash idea from Karen - The Graphics Fairy might help there. Thanks Karen.Helpful Reply

146254 on Mar 25, 2013Oh you can have so much fun with the interiors of these homes. We just have to get past the idea "it's a mobile home" like that's a bad thing. My dad came over after I had painted every wall in the house, replaced all the carpet and decorated. He, being a man of few words, stood in the doorway and said "This looks just like a real house." LOL! Of course it looks like that, it is one! Go to town on those walls, you wont be sorry! I wish I had taken pictures of the before of the entire house, but I was very busy making it into the after! I love my home, and it's paid for!Helpful Reply
