How to Paint a Fabric Sofa!

Easy
So I decided to take the plunge and paint my cream IKEA fabric sofa! Why you ask?Well firstly, because I will always choose frugal over anything else when it comes to re-decorating (re- upholstering is expensive and maybe just a little too time consuming). And secondly, because I've come to the realization that anything of a light light cream is a huge no no when you have a toddler who likes to eat food just about anywhere!
How to:

I sprayed sofa to dampen it!
- paint three coats with valspar wall paint
- use masking tape to make a geometric pattern
- seal with clear wax to soften.
And voila!

It looks great! I have painted chairs twice but they always ended feeling so stiff. Are you saying the wax is what makes it feel soft? What kind of wax did u use? How does it not sticky or get on people clothes when they sit on it?
