Bring some good luck into your home for the New Year, or any time, with these beautiful Luck Horseshoes. There's 6 different types total on my website link at the bottom. NOTE ON HANGING DIRECTION: Up or down? I did the research and it ends it there are strong opinions on hanging it BOTH ways and there is no overall rule. At least as far as the superstition goes. It varies from location and story. Most folks here seem to think open end up is best! I just hung mine the way they looked good. :-P
Lucky Horseshoe Supplies
FOR THE FOAM BOARD HORSESHOE: Make a horseshoe shape from foam board or using the pattern on my site link. You can wrap it with different things but I find the twine looks the best.
Cover the ends with some cut pieces of twine hot glued on.
Start wrapping your twine. I only glued on the ends. Wrap snugly and tightly. The foam board will bend easily so be careful.
Once it's done you can glue on any decorations you like!
REGULAR HORSESHOES: If you have regular horseshoes they can also be decorated in a huge variety of ways!
Wire can be used to thread beads on.
This shows all the samples from my site. The details for all of them are on the link below.

Gail Burn on Jan 06, 2016It's an old superstition that probably mostly horse people only are aware of. I guess it depends on how superstitious you are. I agree, they're all cute

Gail Burn on Jan 07, 2016I'm not superstitious either. But being an old horse person (74) I think I follow these things more as tradition than superstition. In any case, I think both trees are beautiful. We have lots of horse shoes on the farm from over the years and my husband can weld so I've started working on him to make one for us for next Christmas. And old horse persons that we are, it will most likely be with the shoes pointing up. Old people can get set in their ways, superstitious or not!
