Carey on Sep 22, 2016One year, my cat had 4 kittens that were just the right size and age for play at Christmas time. Thinking to foil them from playing with the decorations on the tree, I placed it near the piano and decorated only halfway down. They figured out a new game. They would climb up on the piano bench then the piano and leap over past the tree, reaching out and snagging the garland as they went by. Each one took turns and so the entire christmas season, I was picking up the garland scattered across the living room, and they delighted in pulling it down again. They never pulled the tree over, but they did manage to bring down the balls and they made great cat toys as well. Unfortunately, they didn't remain the pretty balls they once were, but the kittens were sure a lot of fun. They too were raised by their Mom and her Dog. Sage, our long haired Doxxy, baby sat those kittens with a diligence that even their mother didn't have. He made sure that they were the cleanest cats in the country. When they got big enough to play, he didn't think that they should be leaving the kennel, so he would spend the entire day picking them up and carrying them back to the kennel. By night, he was so tired, he just collapsed on his pillow in exhaustion and let their mom take care of them for the night. He had moved out of his kennel so that she could keep her babies in it! The next morning he was up and taking care of those babies again. He only stopped trying to carry them, when the one we kept decided he had had enough and made it clear that he was to big for that now!

That's hilarious adorable. I have a 31/2 month old kitten right now and they are so fun to watch. But I might have been able to use your doxxy, 😁😉😁

RichandTammy Whiteside on Dec 07, 2016I love this idea! Most of the cat trees don't have the right size spaces for the cats. I have a pretty big one in my living room but would love to make some modifications and seeing this is just the impetus that I needed. Thanks!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Aside from the sisal rope, what type of carpeting did you use and was it just stapled underneath? I didn't find any directions, materials list, etc. on this post. Thanks!
I went to the link you provided, and received a message that stated the website was no longer available.
For that reason, can you give an idea of the kinds of tools and items that wood be needed to make this please.
Thank you.
