This is in a rental house that I own and it's always a mess after the people move out.

are you talking shower/ tub combo or just a tub? is the tile board one of those 8 ft my 4 ft faux tile look? I've seen quarter round tiles used at the base of those type of boards, and caulk was used instead of grout. or even the flatter edging tile could work.

Chalking always work best for easy cleaning. A picture of your needs would of been helpful.

rentals are funny things. Anything you put down permanently in my mind, stays. So, if you don't plan to buy, and rent, then if you put anything permanently that will help with the rental value, then I would discuss any changes you make, those changes should help with decreasing your rental you pay each month. Sorry, that probably isn't you want, but, just be careful about the money changes you put down so that they decrease the amount you pay monthly :).

My husband said that you would have to caulk and paint it and then you would be good to go for a very long time.
