How to Tell if You're Using Too Much Laundry Detergent

When it comes to laundry soap, more does not equal better. In fact, using too much detergent can damage your machine.
To check:
*Run a cycle with no soap
*Allow washer to fill and agitate
*Open washer door and check for suds
If there are lots of suds, you're using too much soap. Add some 1 C vinegar to the drum and finish the cycle. Repeat as needed.

Peg on Nov 29, 2013My brother-in-Law works for P&G [Proctor & Gamble], and he always said if your using Tide, never fill to the line, Tide is a very consecrated detergent. I use about 5-6 tablespoons and it's plenty sudsy and it lasts a lot longer. Think this can go for most detergents........
