DIY Patio Table
by

Patio tables can be expensive. To save money, I put together a flower pot and unfinished wood panel (found at Lowe's.) Then used stain and paint to create a cute and unique table for my back deck.
I already had this old flower pot from the year before. I painted it bright blue to match my chairs.
I found this inexpensive circular wood panel at Lowe's. I sanded it and then wiped it clean with a damp cloth.
With a pencil, I sketched out the petals of a flower. Then, using soft cloth, shaded in the petals with stain.
I coated the table with an acrylic sealer. One screw attached the top to the upside down flower pot and it was ready to hold drinks, snacks or a book while we enjoyed the deck.

Paula Brock on Feb 05, 2016Fusion paint is great on plastic outdoor furniture. It fades over time, but it doesn't chip. It comes in many colors, and it you can't find Fusion paint (in spray cans), Lowe's and Home Depot have Rustoleum paint for metal, wood, and plastics. We were looking for the Fusion paint today, and discovered it was no longer carried, because of the Rustoleum. Rustoleum must have bought our Fusion paint. Good luck.
