So, it's embarrasing posting a photo of this but I need help. We have no pantry, aside from this narrow, deep cupboard. The shelves pull out but even so, it's hard to get to what we need. I know a huge problem is there is just too much packed into here but I also feel like a huge part of it is that this space is just too narrow and too deep. Does anyone have any suggestions for a way to modify this cupboard to make it more effective and ideas for better organization? We end up digging around for stuff and it becomes a huge mess. Help!

Designs by BSB on Jan 12, 2012I can easily picture your nightmare! I can offer several solutions.. it would be helpful to see a picture so I know how the front frame of the cabinet looks, in addition to know the width. Normally, people add roll out shelves to tall, deep pantry systems. Challenge (sometimes) with this system is that they need to be mounted on the side (easiest method anyway) - thus it makes the roll out even smaller. So if you can't figure out the picture.. start with an opening dimension? and .. do you cabinets have a frame on them? How far do the hinges stick out into the opening? May be confusing.. sorry, these can affect the size of the trays and the type of system that will fit.Helpful Reply

Meem Kaplan on Apr 26, 2015Maybe every other shelf being a half shelf? I'm converting a narrow coat closet for a pantry because I am so tired of running out to cabinets in the garage. I'm going to put shallow shelves on the 3 sides. It has a deep shelf over the closet pole and it is useless after the first 4" because it's just too high and too deep. Oh my, I just saw the date of your posting. Here we are over 3 years later.Helpful Reply
