Table inspiration...........please?
Could you please give me some direction on fitting them in to my room, painting or re-staining? What colors would work best...anything. I marvel at the talent of all of you who can put together a room with re-done objects and it looks amazing.......I, on the other hand, have no such talent and clip many of your posts to someday copy. BUT I don't have an eye for putting things together and the only thing I know for sure is what I'm going to do to one lg table I have.
Thank you for any offerings you can give me!

Karri on Apr 05, 2013A worn look in red: paint black, then paint over with red and sand around the edges lightly just enough to bring a little black through. Just one idea. Or visa versa with the colors, very nice look too.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Apr 05, 2013@Janet Flannery first I think you have to look at the colours in your room, from what you have posted I do see that you have accents of black. You could strip the top stain off the tables and then sand and restain the wood in a colour you like. For the bottom you could use a chalk paint or other furniture paint in either black (goes with anything) or another colour that you would like in your room and add some cushions with that colour in it. Maybe after surveying your room go back and look at your clippings to see what you like - you can apply any of the pinting on most furniture and in the colours you like. Take your time and use your imagination, you have already used - I can tell by the tables you chose - the style is perfect for the room. Now just make them to your tastes. Thanks for posting and please update this post with your progress :)Helpful Reply

Betty Hammond-Wirsen on Nov 25, 2013I have the exact same tables that I bought new for more than $200 for the set. I've had them for ten years, and they've gone through several kids (the tops are worn, but they're so sturdy I can't stand to get rid of them) so I certainly would like to see what you decide to do with them...I might steal your ideas. :)Helpful Reply

Lex263207 on Dec 11, 2013I would pull one of the colors from you $4 clock, such as the turquoise. Paint & distress a little. Then you have a great accent piece, different and exciting without spending a ton. Here's sewing machine drawer I did in the same fashion. I see that I am way late on this post. Wondering if you've painted it yet?Helpful Reply
