They are everywhere in homes, the builder's grade brass fireplace surrounds that have the lovely brass plated strips. There is an easy way to update these without having to remove the glass doors and make it a huge production!
Cover everything up really well as you you will be using spray paint! Not just any spray paint, be sure to visit the site to see the best kind of heat resistant paint to use.
In under 30 minutes, the fireplace had a whole new look. It was very messy and it was quick! This project cost under 5 dollars!

JodiJeanne on Jan 11, 2016I used spray paint made for high heat (like gas grills)..... but make sure you remove the doors and spray outside... The fumes are horrible. (it does mention this on the can). I did mine about 10 years ago, use the fireplace alot and have had no issues with the paint.
