Vintage Fisher Price Stacking Ring Playroom Mobile

My kiddos have inherited many classic toys that my mother has saved for 30-some years. One such oldie but goodie is a Fisher Price stacking ring toy. It's survived three kids until the rings started splitting and the cone got a chunk broken off when used as a sword! Instead of tossing my childhood memories, I turned it into a fun, colorful mobile to hang in said kiddos playroom!
Lucky for me, each ring had a small hole in it. Using fishing line, I made 2-3 knots and shoved them into each hole. Continue in this manner until each ring has its own fishing line. Give yourself enough line so you can vary each ring's hanging length.
I know enough about power tools to be dangerous but I can handle a drill! Using a thin drill bit, make holes in the base of the stacking tower ensuring the drill bit goes all the way through. Make one last hole in the area where the cone screws into the base.
Insert the fishing wire through each hole, tying 3-4 knots on the underside of the base. Since this is a mobile, vary the length of each ring. Add some glue to the ball that sits atop the tower.
Insert one last piece of fishing wire through the hole you made where the cone screws into the base. Loop this fishing wire to make a hanger. Hang and be happy!
