Ideas for this rack? It is 36" long 7" high

I found this and I thought that it might be a good project to keep me busy. I am not very artistic, but I would like a few ideas from people. I do not think that I actually have a place in my home for this, so I am open to anything. I did find that these are referred to as towel shelves. I really don't think Florida is a big draw for coat racks. lol The drawers really set it off, but I don't know about uses.

How about painting it out in a color to match your bathroom and using it in there for storage, display and maybe even a towel rack? That could be fun since you don't really have a need for towels! :) Or maybe if you have a walk-in closet you could paint it out in a pretty color and use for display and storage of all your pretty scarves and jewelry...Please post a pic of what you do decide to do with it!

I can see it being repurposed into a floating console table for an entryway/foyer! Use the top as a place to set down keys, and the hooks for hanging a handbag, dog leash, etc.

Since you do not think you have the need for the piece inside your home how about repurposing outside. If you like to garden there are several ways this would come in handy.

would be really nice in an entryway to catch keys & use the drawers for those little things you don't know what to do with, OR would be nice for above an office desk to store small items, paper clips, stapler, rubber bands, etc

To add to Mary's idea, drop it down to desk height, cut down the pegs to make them about an inch long and attach legs to the front and hang a cute mirror on the wall behind for a jewelry, vanity table.

if you have a young daughter you could hang this above the bed approx 4 feet and hang some lace curtains from it like a canopy.

Well I would take out the drawers and paint them or decopodge some cool scrapbook paper or just book script pages onto them. Both of these are super simple and fun to do. Use the drawers as pen/pencil holder sugar or truiva packet holder or tea bag holder or catch on on table dresser or counter top, etc. as for the shelf its self just store for now till you find something to do with it.

I agree with using it at the front door or using it for jewelry. If you use it for jewelry, paint it your favorite color or gold or silver or white. I think it is a great find. PS. People in FL wear hats or caps and the occasional rain coat or jacket. I like the idea of dog leashes also. Or You can also hang it in the kitchen for spices and dish towels and potholders. If you go with the jewelry box theme, you can hang it in a closet or behind the bedroom door. Or even the bathroom and use the drawers for make-up and the hooks for combs, brushes, and hand mirror or curling iron and hair dryer. I would like to find about 4 or 5 of them for my home.

Forgot to mention in the sewing room with notions in the drawers and scissors on the pegs and framed pictures or inspiration on top. Just look around your home and see where you need this type of small storage.

I would hang it in my kitchen , put old plates you want to display on the shelf and use the drawers for tea bags, cloves, fennel seeds, things of that nature, cinnamon sticks all of these things will also make your kitchen smell amazing, then use the pegs for potholders or Put some twine on a picture frame and hang it from the peg with a pic of your favorite fella. Hang a couple pictures on it. but please don't dismantle it. I think it is beautiful.

I would put favorite cups on and saucers above and fill drawers with tea bags and Keurig pods... Everything together!

I think all these would be good uses, and you could even use it in the bathroom, to hang towels, etc. to dry, and use the drawers for cottonballs and bathroom stuff. If you like color, I'd paint it a color to match the room, and different colored knobs, or two tone, or primary colors for a child's room, white (or pink or blue) for a nursery. You could keep it neutral anywhere you use it by painting it white or black, or even just stain it, if you like the look of wood. I think darker antiquing would look good around the drawers and along the edges of the whole piece. You could also decorate it using stencils or "wallies". So many uses, and things you could do with a piece like this.

Why not use it for all the sun hats you must need. Caps especially perhaps would suit it. Personally I think I would like it decoupaged with some nice wrapping paper pictures and coated with escapologist or some other sealing gloss paint.

Thank You all for your suggestions I am going for beach look and replacing a towel rack (that is never used except for decorative towels). I have a large picture above, so going to bring out the teal color with the shelf.. Now to get busy. Thanks again.
