Orchid blooming January 2012

These are the only plants I have that are lovely at this time of year. When it gets under 50 degrees I bring them in the house.

I have a lot of orchids so this is a job - take out when it is nice and bring in when it is nasty.

I don't even know their names or how to care for them except I know not to let them freeze to death. I hang them under trees and water them with fish poop from my pond when the weather is good. I need a greenhouse in winter for these orchids; any referrals?

Whatever that one's name is, Sherrie, it's a beauty. I don't think I've ever seen that color in an orchid before.

Teresa, polite people call it fish emulsion but I get the water from my Koi pond & I know it is fish poop.
