DIY Wood Counter For Under $50

My husband TORCHED my new counter top! And I was OKAY with it.
My husband and I purchased a late 1960’s home about a year ago. Little did I know that in less than a year we’d be building (and torching) a DIY Wood Counter in our dining room.
Here's the BEFORE picture.
So we did something about it.
I absolutely love the way the counter turned out. It's fresh, it's rustic, it's cozy, it's kinda farmhouse like, and we made it! And BEST of all...it was less than $50!
Enjoyed the project?

Judy on Jan 16, 2016I'd give my eye tooth to have a dining room like your old one..I thought that was wonderful....that's the difference in our ages I guess. Things I always wished I could have are being thrown away as ugly now, but they are real bargains at the resale shops. This is not to say the new isn't great because like your countertop, it usually is, can't wait to see the rest of your room.

Hi David, Yes, torching is literally burning the wood with a torch. You can see more photos and read the details of what I did after here: http://www.creativelylivingblog.com/2016/01/diy-wood-counter-for-under-50.html Thanks!
