Vintage Hutch Given Weathered Wood Look

This is the first refinished piece of the new year. My idea was to give this 70's hutch a new/old update. I decided on a weathered wood finish with a pop of color on the inside along with a nice facbric backing for contrast and character. You can find more refinished furniture on my facebook page at facebook.com/sweetblossomchic.
This of course is the before pic. Ordinary brown 70's hutch with no character.
Here I've started the process of dry brushing white over the wood. I didn't completely cover the wood, I still want some peeking through.
I then painted the inside a nice turquoise color to coordinate with the fabric that I am going to add to the back. I didn't get a pic of that process. I just used a spray adhesive all over the backer board then laid the fabric out and smoothed it out to the edges removing all of the wrinkles.
Here is the final look all staged and ready for its new home.

After dry brushing, did you use any stain or wax? And to finish the piece, did you use any sealers or finishing clear top coats? I'm new to this....haha Thank you! Oh and...this piece is gorgeous! I am typically the type who doesn't like painted furniture. Not a single piece in my home is painted....but I am seriously starting to change my mind. I love the country chic look of aged whites and sage greens. I even saw something on here that was a really dark green that I fell in love with. My point is...I've always been the natural wood or even stained wood furniture person, but now that I am starting to really consider painting a few of my pieces, I want to know all the details. I'm not a perfectionist, but I am scared I'll mess it up! Haha any advice for a nervous beginner?

That is beautiful! Love how it turn out. Wanted to do my kitchen cabinets like this. Questions, did you sand it? Used any wax? Glaze? What kind of paint? I am trying to learn how to do this.
