My wife and I almost purchased the old airport that was for sale about 22 years ago. The only reason we did not was the power plant. Just a bit close for our comfort at that time.Helpful Reply

Marvin R on Apr 12, 2013Thanks you must be referring to Sharon Harris nuclear plant. I have lived here my whole life so its home to me a small town feel but only 30 minutes from Cary/Raleigh one way and Southern Pines the other. A lot of people retire in this area and Southern pines .A guy that works with me at the police dept is from New York not sure what part he loves it here. Let me know if you ever have any questions. Thanks for the flower tips.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Apr 12, 2013Marvin, I don't think your mint will be that happy in the shade. Herbs in general want as much sun as you can give them. Some hostas-Aphrodite is one-have flowers that are quite fragrant and would do well in a pot on your porch. You might also consider small shrubs. Daphne is somewhat fussy but you cannot beat the fragrance when it blooms, and one of the small clethras like "16 Candles" would give you fragrance later in the season. As a bonus, you could plant any of these into a shady area of your yard at the end of the season.Helpful Reply
