Stop the Garage Madness! 5 Organization Essentials

Your garage was designed for one simple mission: to protect your car from the elements. But somewhere along the way, its responsibilities...expanded. And now it's crammed with tools, luggage, a lawnmower, holiday decorations, bicycles, car parts, unused furniture, paint cans...the list goes on. And on. And on.
Stop the garage madness! Give this overworked space a break and create some wiggle room for your vehicle by adding a sense of order. Here are five essential organization additions that'll help you control the garage clutter:
1. Pegboards. Think of pegboards as the Swiss Army knife of garage organization – they can handle almost any mess. Cover a wall or two with pegboards and you can hang anything from tennis rackets to tools where they're easy to grab. You can find pegboard hooks at your local hardware store, and there are a variety of options depending on what you want to organize. We like this 52-piece set by Stanley Tools (it's only $9). Before buying, just make sure the hooks are the right size for your pegboard (otherwise they'll fall out!). Design Tip: Add a little décor-oomph to your garage by painting your pegboards a bright color.
