What is something you have used that is not real ceramic tiles? I have tin ones but would rather have the ceramic look.

I have never done any thing else but ceramic tiling, however I found this interesting post. See what you think.www.hometalk.com/diy/kitchen-dining/backsplashes/faux-tile-backsplash-1599488

Janet if you want to use ceramic tile but not incur the cost, you could visit a tile shop and ask if they have discontinued or clearance tiles. If you have a color scheme in mind, you might be able to purchase several colors, shapes or sizes at deep discount pricing and then create your own custom mosaic tile backsplash. That way you'd have the ceramic tile you like and the lower cost as well. Best Wishes!

Just finished my backsplash with "SmartTile"--a vinyl self stick product that looks like ceramic. You can check their website to see what's available--I ordered some on line from a company called "Hardware & Tools" and got additional through Home Depot. Hardware & Tools sells in lots of 24 pcs only--but the best price. I needed to order additional to finish the job. It was easy to work with (can cut it with scissors) and it looks really good. My son came over and told me how good the "glass" looked. He didn't know it wasn't ceramic.

@Joyce Mou Thanks so much.....that is exactly what I wanted...I was trying to find some online today and I am buying from the Smart Tile Site. I have high ceilings, tall white kitchen cabinets.....my walls are a light tan. I need to match up with a new counter top too.
